Victoria Falls



Victoria Falls is one of the recognised Seven Natural Wonders of the World. It is the location where the Zambezi River plummets into a great ravine to create a spectacular waterfall. In the local language it is known as ‘Mosi-o-Tunya’ meaning the smoke that thunders. When the Zambezi is flowing at its highest the spray produced from the falls can be seen for nearly 50km away.




The Victoria Falls seperate Zimbabwe and Zambia and Zimbabwe is the best location to see the falls. The name of the town is named after the falls, Victoria Falls town. The falls was named by Dr David Livingstone in 1855 and named after Queen Victoria. The bridge that spans the ravine over the lower Zambezi provides the transport connection between the two countries as was built in 1905. This is the location where you can partake in many of the adrenaline activities available in the town, including the popular bridge bungee jumping.



Victoria Falls town is now a tourist destination for adrenaline activities. You can do everything from white water rafting to sunset cruises on the Zambezi River. You can get lost in the wonders of the town as there are cafe’s, restaurants, curios markets, art galleries and so much more. Victoria Falls Town is a great location to visit the spectacular falls, be adventurous and take home a souvenir from Africa.
